ROI Institut - Global Leaders in Evaluation - Bildungscontrolling

ROI Studies

More than 25 years ago, the ROI-Institut has started to analyse HRD initiatives. Already at that time we dealt with the question: "Which business key figures change how much regarding to which training?"

In the meantime more than 2.500 people haven been certified as ROI expert. These experts conduct ROI Studies on behalf of the ROI-Institut. The insights from these studies are combined at the ROI-Institut, analysed and used for learning contents, tools and processes. Significant knowledge has been uncovered regarding which trainings are most profitable under which circumstances. Moreover the ROI ProcessTM has been developed more than 20 years ago and has been improved constantly. It is regarded as the standard (best-practise) for implementation of HRD initiatives – know-how to optimise learning success.

Several thousands of ROI Studies are available in the ROI-Institut, more than 100 studies have been published. Please contact us if you interested in a list of all published ROI Studies with information about company and HRD initiative.

Conduct Your Own ROI Study

If you plan to analyse your HRD initiative and want to determine the ROI, please contact the ROI-Institut - we are happy to support you. The following steps have proofed effective:

1. Choosing an initiative:

Generally speaking you can choose most HRD initiatives to determine the ROI. However you need to consider the time and expenses which differs from project to project. Therefore the question appears: "Which HRD initiative is the most reasonable to analyse?" On the other hand some internal clients might just want a specific program analysed to secure future investments. If you are interested we can send you the checklist "Criteria to Choose the Right HRD Initiative" for a ROI study.

2. Involving the sponsors:

One important factor when conducting a ROI study is the involvement of the sponsors. The roughly defined impact, application, learning and satisfaction objectives are established with the sponsors/management. Moreover the feasibility is verified with the controlling department. This is a critical step to finally determine the (isolated) success.

3. Implementing the initiative: with the following detailed steps:
